Ligue 1: Strasbourg edge Brest 2–1

RC Strasbourg Alsace secured an impressive 2–1 away victory over Stade Brestois 29 at Stade Francis-Le Blé, capitalising on a rapid start and a disciplined defensive display after taking an early lead.

Strasbourg opened the scoring in the 9th minute when Valentín Barco finished neatly with his left foot following a well-worked move involving Julio Enciso and a final assist from Sebastian Nanasi.

Brest responded quickly, equalising four minutes later as Kenny Lala delivered a deep cross that Ludovic Ajorque headed home to make it 1–1.

The decisive moment arrived in the 20th minute. Enciso once again played a key role, delivering a precise ball into the box for Nanasi, who headed in to restore Strasbourg’s advantage.

That goal proved enough, with Strasbourg holding firm through the remainder of the match.

Goalkeeper Mike Penders played a crucial role in preserving the lead, producing five first-half saves and finishing with an impressive 1.03 goals prevented, underlining his influence between the posts.

Nanasi stood out with a goal and an assist, also leading the team with four key passes, while Barco added the early opener from three attempts.

Enciso contributed creatively throughout, including the assist for the winner and one big chance created.

For Brest, Ajorque was a constant threat with six shots and an xG of 1.44 but was unable to find a second goal. Romain Del Castillo and Hugo Magnetti provided support from midfield, while Michel Diaz stood out defensively with nine clearances.

Despite Brest’s attacking volume, Strasbourg’s early efficiency and strong goalkeeping proved decisive in a tightly contested Ligue 1 encounter.
