Arsenal set to extend Arteta’s contract

Arsenal are preparing to open talks over a new contract for manager Mikel Arteta this summer, as the club moves to secure his long-term future at the Emirates Stadium.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s update on X on Wednesday, the decision to extend his stay had already been taken as far back as March and is not tied to how the current campaign finishes.

Romano’s post stated, “Arsenal are planning to offer Mikel Arteta a new contract in the summer. Plan already decided in March regardless of end of the season results. Arteta wants to focus on titles now but is in love with the Arsenal project and looking forward to talks. Deal on soon.”

The hierarchy at Arsenal F.C. are understood to remain fully convinced by Arteta’s leadership and the direction he has taken since his appointment in 2019.

Negotiations over a fresh deal are expected to commence in the coming months, with both parties reportedly open to extending the relationship further.

While discussions are yet to formally begin, there is a clear mutual desire to maintain stability at the club.

Arteta is said to be fully focused on the remainder of the season and competing for major trophies, while remaining deeply committed to Arsenal’s long-term project.

Although the specifics of the proposed extension have not been disclosed, the anticipated offer would reinforce Arsenal’s faith in the Spaniard as he continues to guide the team’s evolution in pursuit of silverware.
