No team better than PSG in Europe, says Enrique ahead Bayern clash

Paris Saint-Germain head coach, Luis Enrique, has declared that no team in Europe can currently be considered superior to his side as they gear up for their Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich, according to France 24.

Speaking ahead of the first leg at the Parc des Princes, the Spaniard said the tie features two of the continent’s strongest teams, while also acknowledging the impressive campaign of Arsenal.

“These are the two best teams in Europe, even if Arsenal have also had a great season,” the Spanish coach told reporters on the eve of the semi-final first leg at the Parc des Princes.

“In terms of consistency, maybe Bayern are a little bit above us. But we have shown that no team is better than us.”

Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain side are in the Champions League semi-finals for a third consecutive season since his appointment in 2023, and are chasing back-to-back titles after winning the competition for the first time last year.

Their route to this stage has included victories over Chelsea and Liverpool in the knockout rounds.

“It is a real pleasure and it is deserved. You need to be ambitious to get to this stage and I think we are. We still want to go that bit further,” Luis Enrique said.

PSG and Bayern Munich are no strangers this season, having met three times since last year.

Bayern won 1-0 at home in the league phase in November 2024, PSG responded with a 2-0 win in a Club World Cup quarter-final in the United States last July, while Bayern also claimed a 2-1 victory in Paris during the group stage.

There was positive news for PSG regarding the fitness of Vitinha, who had missed the last two matches due to injury but returned to training on Monday.

“Everyone is ready,” said the coach, who also welcomed the return of Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who made his first start in three months during PSG’s 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Angers at the weekend.
