Paris-Saint-Germain beat FC Nantes 3–0 at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening in the rescheduled Ligue 1 Matchday 26 fixture, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scoring twice and Désiré Doué adding a stunning strike in a dominant display from the league leaders
The champions wasted little time asserting control, going ahead in the 13th minute after Kvaratskhelia calmly converted from the penalty spot.
The spot-kick was awarded following a handball inside the box by Ali Yousuf, and the Georgian forward made no mistake.
PSG continued to dictate play and created several openings, with Ousmane Dembélé and Doué combining well in attack.
Anthony Lopes was called into action to deny a powerful effort from a tight angle, while Nantes briefly thought they had equalised through Louis Leroux, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
The breakthrough for a second goal arrived in the 37th minute in spectacular fashion.
After a fluid attacking move involving Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi, Désiré Doué unleashed a brilliant strike from the right side of the box that flew into the top corner, leaving the Nantes goalkeeper with no chance.
Nantes attempted to respond before the break through Matthis Abline, but Matvey Safonov remained alert to keep PSG’s advantage intact.
After the restart, PSG quickly extended their lead. Kvaratskhelia struck again in the 50th minute, finishing off a slick move initiated by Dembélé and coolly beating his marker inside the box to make it 3–0.
Luis Enrique’s side continued to press for more goals, with Hakimi narrowly missing the target and Fabián Ruiz hitting the woodwork from distance.
Late efforts from Bradley Barcola were denied by Lopes, while Safonov ensured a clean sheet with a late save to deny Frédéric Guilbert.
The comfortable victory strengthens PSG’s position at the top of Ligue 1, as they extend their lead over their closest rivals in the title race.
