Strasbourg edged a dramatic 3–2 away win over Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire, a result that keeps them eighth in Ligue 1 while pushing the hosts further into trouble in 17th place.
Nantes made a fast start when Dehmaine Tabibou converted from Matthis Abline’s assist in the sixth minute to give the home side an early advantage.
Strasbourg responded deep into first-half stoppage time, with Maxi Oyedele finishing off a Sam Amo-Ameyaw cut-back to restore parity at 1–1 before the break.
The hosts regained control shortly after the restart as Abline latched onto Chidozie Awaziem’s through ball to make it 2–1 in the 53rd minute.
However, substitute Joaquín Panichelli changed the game completely for Strasbourg.
He first levelled matters in the 78th minute from Gessime Yassine’s pass, before completing a stunning turnaround in the second minute of added time, reacting quickest inside the box after a set-piece situation.
The brace takes Panichelli to 16 Ligue 1 goals, putting him top of the scoring charts.
Despite Nantes producing nine shots on target from 14 attempts and Strasbourg enjoying 62.8% possession, goalkeeper Mike Penders was key with seven crucial saves to preserve the win.
Strasbourg now turn their attention to a home clash with Nice, while Nantes head to face Metz in their next league outing. Strasbourg also travel to Mainz 05 in UEFA Conference League action.
