APC fixes March 24 for screening of national office aspirants

The All Progressives Congress has announced Tuesday, March 24, 2026, as the date for the screening of aspirants contesting for national offices ahead of its forthcoming national convention.

The exercise, according to the party, will be held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja and forms a key step in preparations for the convention scheduled for later in the week.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Secretary of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee, Isa Yuguda, said only aspirants who have duly purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination forms would be eligible to participate in the screening.

“Only aspirants who have completed the purchase and submission of the required forms will be screened,” Yuguda stated.

“All candidates must appear in person and present relevant supporting documents for verification.”

He also advised aspirants to arrive early at the venue to ensure a seamless and timely process. “We urge all aspirants to be punctual and come fully prepared to facilitate a smooth exercise,” he added.

The screening comes as part of a broader timetable released by the APC in December 2025, outlining activities leading to its 2026 national convention.

The process began with a nationwide membership e-registration exercise and has since progressed through ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses.

Party officials say the various stages, including the conduct of congresses and resolution of appeals, have now set the stage for the national convention, where key leadership positions are expected to be decided.

The APC’s national convention is scheduled to hold from March 25 to March 28, 2026.
