Popular Nollywood actress Faithia Balogun has released details of the burial arrangements for her late mother, Gloria Williams, with ceremonies scheduled to begin on March 6.
The actress shared the information via her Instagram page on Monday, stating that the funeral rites would be held privately and strictly by invitation.
According to the schedule made public by the family, a wake-keep will take place on Friday, March 6. This will be followed by a lying-in-state and interment on Saturday, March 7. A Thanksgiving Mass is set for Sunday, March 8, at St. Monica Catholic Church.
Balogun expressed appreciation to friends, colleagues and well-wishers who have reached out to her since her mother’s passing.
“I sincerely appreciate everyone who has called, visited and shown support since the loss of my dear mother. Your love and encouragement mean so much to me. May Allah reward you all abundantly,” she wrote.
She explained that attendance at the upcoming ceremonies would be limited to close family members and selected friends.
“For those requesting burial details, the family has resolved to keep the ceremonies private, strictly for close friends and relatives. A later date will be announced for a larger public event where everyone can participate,” she added.
The actress also cautioned against unauthorised invitations, stating, “Please note that only invitations sent from designated contacts will be honoured. Without an official invite, there will be no access to the venue.”
Last month, Balogun announced her mother’s death, revealing that she passed away shortly before the actress’ 55th birthday. She described her late mother as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend and gist partner.”
