Veteran Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has announced the passing of her mother, revealing that the loss occurred just a day before her 55th birthday celebration but was kept from her until afterwards.
The actress shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional post on her Instagram page on Monday, explaining that her family withheld the information so she could celebrate her birthday without distress.
According to Williams, her mother died on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, on the eve of the birthday party she marked the following day.
“Unknown to me, my precious mother passed away on the eve of my birthday celebration, and the truth was deliberately hidden from me,” she wrote.
Describing her late mother as a central figure in her life, the actress said the reality of the loss has been difficult to grasp.
“She was my biggest supporter, my prayer partner, my confidant and gist partner. It still feels unreal,” Williams added.
Taking comfort in her faith, the actress noted that the Williams family has chosen to grieve privately for now, while appealing to the public for prayers and support.
“Your love and prayers will mean so much to me and my siblings at this time. Burial arrangements will be communicated later,” she stated.
