The All Progressives Congress has extended the timeline for the purchase and submission of forms for its upcoming Zonal Congress and National Convention.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in Abuja through a statement posted on the party’s X handle and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka. According to the party, the revised schedule now sets the exercise for March 12 to March 23, 2026.
“Purchase and submission of forms will now hold from March 12, 2026 to March 23, 2026,” the APC stated.
The ruling party stressed that the adjustment only affects the form sales and submission window, not the dates for the congress and convention themselves.
“The Party wishes to clarify that this adjustment does not affect the previously scheduled dates for the conduct of the Zonal Congress and the National Convention,” the statement added.
As earlier announced, the Zonal Congress will hold on March 25, 2026, while the National Convention is slated for March 26–27, 2026.
The APC also revealed a change in venue for the South-South Zonal Congress, which will now take place in Asaba, Delta State, instead of its initial location.
The party noted that it had officially notified the Independent National Electoral Commission of the updated schedule, in compliance with legal requirements, and urged stakeholders to take note of the adjustments.
Party insiders say the latest revision aligns with broader efforts to ensure smooth preparations for the 2026 internal elections, which will usher in new zonal and national leadership for the ruling party.
PUNCH Online reports that this update follows earlier amendments to the APC’s 2026 timetable, including rescheduled ward congresses and other preparatory activities aimed at promoting wider participation.
