RC Lens capitalized on Paris Saint-Germain’s stumble, cruising to a commanding 5-0 victory at Paris FC to reclaim the summit of Ligue 1.
After a tentative start, Les Sang et Or broke the deadlock midway through the first half.
Odsonne Edouard controlled Matthieu Udol’s cross and set up Wesley Said, who slotted the ball neatly into the corner to give Lens the lead.
The 30-year-old Said struck again before halftime, this time connecting with a precise cross from Saud Abdulhamid to double the visitors’ advantage past Kevin Trapp.
Paris FC struggled to create clear-cut chances and found themselves further behind just before the hour mark. Otavio’s foul on Abdulhamid in the penalty area gifted Lens a spot-kick, calmly converted by Florian Thauvin to make it 3-0.
Edouard had a chance to extend the lead but headed wide from Udol’s delivery, while Malang Sarr’s header rattled the post, offering a rare reprieve for the home side.
Lens wrapped up their dominant display late in the game, with Allan Saint-Maximin setting up Rayan Fofana for a composed finish.
The duo combined once more in stoppage time, with Fofana sliding home another goal to seal a resounding 5-0 triumph.
The defeat leaves Paris FC 15th, still winless against top-half sides and conceding as many goals at home as Nantes.
Lens, meanwhile, sit atop the table, a point clear of PSG, having won all 14 matches in which they opened the scoring.
