Ligue 1: Brest beat Lorient 2-0, end unbeaten run

Brest ended Lorient’s nine-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 victory at Stade Francis-Le Blé, while also snapping their own three-game winless streak.

Rémy Labeau Lascary opened the scoring in the 50th minute, curling a precise low shot from the left side of the box. Ludovic Ajorque then doubled the lead in the 77th minute, finishing from close range after a quick counterattack to seal the win.

Lorient’s goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo kept his side in the game with key saves, denying Daouda Guindo before halftime and stopping Ajorque shortly after the break.

In stoppage time, Gregorie Coudert preserved Brest’s clean sheet, blocking a header from Montassar Talbi.

Brest grew more dangerous after Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe’s introduction, using quick transitions to pin Lorient deeper, with Ajorque constantly testing the backline. Earlier in the match, a potential Brest penalty was overturned by VAR following a handball review.

The visitors had the lion’s share of possession, 57.8%, but managed just two shots on target from 13 attempts, while Brest made the most of their 11 shots, five of which were on target.

Next up, Brest travel to Lille, while Lorient host Angers.
