Juventus kept their momentum rolling on Sunday with a commanding 4–1 victory over relegation-threatened Parma, a result that significantly boosted their push for a top-four finish in Serie A.
Fresh from their win against Napoli, the Bianconeri surged into the Champions League places at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, inspired by an unexpected brace from centre-back Bremer.
Weston McKennie and Jonathan David also found the net in a dominant display, though Juve’s position remains precarious with Roma still able to leapfrog them if they defeat Udinese on Monday.
The visitors wasted no time asserting control. Francisco Conceicao fired narrowly wide inside the opening minute before rattling the crossbar shortly afterwards, turning McKennie’s cross against the frame of the goal.
Conceicao soon played a decisive role as Juventus broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, curling in a corner that Bremer met with a powerful near-post header beyond Edoardo Corvi.
The lead was doubled shortly before half-time when McKennie produced an acrobatic volley, expertly steering Pierre Kalulu’s delivery into the bottom-right corner.
Parma offered brief resistance after the interval, halving the deficit when Alessandro Circati’s cross was unintentionally diverted into his own net by Andrea Cambiaso.
However, Juventus quickly reasserted their authority. From a cleverly worked free-kick, McKennie’s header crashed off the crossbar, with Jonathan David prodding the rebound goalwards before Bremer ensured it crossed the line.
The contest was effectively settled in the 64th minute as Corvi could only parry Conceicao’s low effort, allowing David to tap in from close range.
Parma thought they had conceded a fifth in stoppage time when Lois Openda rifled home, but VAR intervened to rule the effort out for offside.
After a frustrating goalless Champions League draw with Monaco in midweek, Juventus delivered the ideal response, producing a performance that underlined their European ambitions.
The visitors dominated the numbers, posting an xG of 4.03 from 15 shots, compared to Parma’s modest 0.6 from 10 attempts.
Bremer’s brace capped another remarkable milestone, as the Brazilian became the defender with the most headed goals (15) across Europe’s top five leagues since the 2019/20 season, moving ahead of both Virgil van Dijk and Gabriel Magalhães.
