Ex-Chelsea coach Sarri undergoes heart surgery

Lazio head coach, Maurizio Sarri, underwent a minor cardiac procedure on Monday after being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.

The 66-year-old received a catheter ablation at Policlinico Tor Vergata in Rome, performed with the club doctor in attendance.

Lazio confirmed the procedure was successful and said Sarri is expected to return to team duties in the coming days.

Sarri, who began his managerial career in 1990, has an illustrious résumé that includes coaching Napoli, Chelsea, and Juventus, winning the 2019 Europa League with Chelsea and the 2020 Serie A title with Juventus.
