UCL: Lookman shines as Atalanta crush Frankfurt 3-0
Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman, was the star of the show as he netted a goal and provided an assist to inspire Atalanta to a convincing 3-0 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park.
Lookman retained his spot in Atalanta’s starting XI for the UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday, lining up in a 3-4-3 alongside Charles De Ketelaere and Gianluca Scamacca.
The first half was lively, with both sides testing each other, and Lookman came close in the 35th minute, striking the post with a fierce effort.
He also had a couple more chances before halftime but was denied by the Frankfurt goalkeeper.
After the break, Atalanta intensified their pressure, and Lookman delivered the breakthrough in the 60th minute.
He latched onto a perfectly weighted cross from De Ketelaere on the right and expertly volleyed the ball with his weaker foot, beating Michael Zetterer and sending the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
