US music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a federal correctional facility in New Jersey to continue serving his four-year, two-month prison sentence for offences related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ records released on Friday, Combs is now held at the low-security Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, located about 130 kilometres south of New York.
The facility is also known for providing drug treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
His legal team had requested the transfer to the New Jersey prison, which is where he is expected to remain until his scheduled release date of May 8, 2028, factoring in time already served.
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and, in July 2025, was convicted on two counts linked to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. He was, however, acquitted of more severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.
Before sentencing, Combs addressed the court in an emotional statement, expressing remorse for his actions.
“I am truly sorry,” he said, describing his behaviour as “disgusting, shameful, and sick.”
He also apologized to his family and the victims, acknowledging the harm caused.
Despite the conviction, Combs has filed appeals challenging both the judgment and the sentence imposed.
The case has drawn wide attention, marking a dramatic turn in the career of the 55-year-old music executive and entrepreneur who once stood as one of the most influential figures in global hip-hop and entertainment.
