Diddy injured in prison fight with Mexican drug lord

American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly sustained a head injury following a fight with Jamaican drug lord Christopher Coke, popularly known as “Dudus,” at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

According to a report by TMZ published on Wednesday, the confrontation occurred last Friday after tensions reportedly rose among inmates over increased prison restrictions following media reports about Combs’ living conditions behind bars.

The entertainment news outlet quoted unnamed sources within the facility as saying the dispute began after other inmates became angry with Combs over an NBC News report detailing his alleged privileges in prison.

The report said prison officials subsequently carried out at least two raids and seized mobile phones belonging to inmates, including Coke.

TMZ reported that Combs suffered a head injury during the altercation and was taken to an external medical facility for treatment.

The outlet had earlier reported that the rapper was transported by ambulance from the prison early Saturday morning for emergency medical attention.

Following the incident, both inmates were reportedly placed in the prison’s Special Housing Unit, a form of restricted confinement, for two weeks as punishment.

According to TMZ, Combs was already being held in the unit before the reported fight, following the controversy surrounding the NBC News report. The confrontation allegedly occurred during his daily recreation period outside the unit.

Coke, who has been serving a 23-year prison sentence since 2012, was described by sources cited by TMZ as an influential figure among inmates at the facility.

The report suggested that the alleged raids and confiscation of mobile phones had angered Coke and other inmates by disrupting privileges they previously enjoyed.

However, the circumstances surrounding the reported altercation have not been independently verified, and no official statement from prison authorities confirming the incident was included in the report.
