Nottingham Forest’s struggles at Turf Moor continued as they could only manage a 1-1 draw against a resilient Burnley side, extending their poor record to just one win in their last ten visits.
The Clarets, praised last weekend for their determined display against Liverpool, got off to a chaotic start this time.
Forest didn’t even have to wait long to take the lead, as Neco Williams capitalized on a half-cleared corner, firing a crisp shot into the roof of the net before Burnley had touched the ball.
Burnley, under Scott Parker, responded with intensity. On his full debut, Florentino Luis set up Quilindschy Hartman down the left, whose half-volley forced an impressive save from Matz Sels.
The home side, however, eventually got their reward when Hartman’s dangerous delivery caused confusion in the Forest box. Jaidon Anthony tried to intervene, but in the process, Oleksandr Zinchenko’s challenge bundled the ball over the line to level the score.
Forest briefly regained momentum, and a curling effort from Dilane Bakwa was brilliantly tipped over by Martin Dubravka, keeping the game level.
Burnley nearly went ahead before halftime when Loum Tchaouna’s free-kick rattled the crossbar.
The second half began with Burnley threatening immediately, as Anthony’s early chance was blocked by Sels, who later denied another long-range effort in heavy rain.
Both teams then slowed, appearing fatigued, which prompted Forest boss Ange Postecoglou to introduce three substitutes with 15 minutes remaining.
The changes injected energy, with Igor Jesus forcing a world-class save from Dubravka within minutes of coming on. Forest looked more likely to snatch a late winner, but Burnley held firm, leaving the hosts to settle for a point.
For Burnley, the draw is a minor boost but does little to improve their league position as they strive to secure their first Premier League survival since the 2020/21 season.
Forest, meanwhile, head into their midweek clash with Real Betis still searching for momentum.
