Saudi’s boxing promoter Alalshikh eye Joshua, Fury blockbuster clash

Saudi Arabia’s influential boxing promoter, Turki Alalshikh, is pulling out all the stops to orchestrate a blockbuster all-British heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in 2026.

Alalshikh, who has become the driving force behind Riyadh’s growing sports entertainment scene, revealed his ambition during a chat with popular boxing platform The Boxing Voice.

According to him, plans are already underway to make the long-awaited bout between the two British icons a reality.

“Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury next year, we are trying to do it,” Alalshikh said. “Both fighters are coming off losses, so it’s the perfect time to build the hype around it.”

Joshua has been out of the ring since suffering a stunning knockout defeat at the hands of Daniel Dubois last September at Wembley Stadium, a loss that derailed his dreams of becoming a three-time world champion.

Fury, on the other hand, announced his retirement earlier this year following back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

But the ‘Gypsy King’ appears to have had a change of heart. He’s recently been sharing intense training clips on social media, fueling speculation about an imminent return.

Alalshikh all but confirmed the comeback earlier this month in a post on X, saying, “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026… We have a rabbit to hunt!”

If the stars align, boxing fans could finally witness the long-anticipated clash between Joshua’s raw power and Fury’s unorthodox brilliance, this time on Saudi soil.
