Super Falcons striker, Esther Okoronkwo, has been named AFC Toronto’s Player of the Month for May, capping off a remarkable start to life in Canada.

The 23-year-old forward impressed with three goals in four appearances, quickly establishing herself as a key player under head coach Marko Milanovic.

Okoronkwo made an immediate impact on her debut, bagging a brace in AFC Toronto’s historic first league win, a 2-0 triumph over Calgary Wild FC, marking the club’s maiden victory in the Canadian Northern Super League.

She added to her tally later in the month, finding the net once more in a clash against Montreal FC.

The Nigerian international joined AFC Toronto in February 2025 following a stint with Chinese side Changchun Dazhong Zhuoyue.
