Arsenal have officially announced the departure of 20 players across both their men’s and women’s teams ahead of the upcoming season.
Among the most notable exits on the men’s side is experienced midfielder Jorginho, who featured 27 times across all competitions last season.
The Italian playmaker, who arrived from Chelsea in January 2023, played a vital role in helping Arsenal secure three successive second-place finishes in the Premier League.
Also departing are goalkeeper Neto and forward Raheem Sterling, who are set to return to their parent clubs, Bournemouth and Chelsea, respectively.
Kieran Tierney will also bid farewell to the Emirates and is poised to complete a return to his former side, Celtic.
A number of young talents are on their way out too, including Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Khayon Edwards, and Jack Henry-Francis, as the club continues to reshape its youth setup.
However, Arsenal revealed that discussions are ongoing with Thomas Partey, as they remain hopeful of retaining the Ghanaian midfielder.
The club is also keen to extend the stay of promising 19-year-old Michal Rosiak.
Partey, who has drawn interest from Barcelona, remains an important figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
The 31-year-old has been with the Gunners since 2020 and had a massive impact last season, clocking up 52 appearances in all competitions.
On the women’s side, Lina Hurtig, Teyah Goldie, and Amanda Ilestedt are confirmed to be leaving the club.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are in talks with Chloe Kelly regarding a potential permanent deal following her loan stint from Manchester City.
In a statement, Arsenal expressed appreciation for the contributions of all the departing players, “We thank all the players leaving us for their contributions to the club,” Arsenal said in a statement. “You will always be part of the Arsenal family and we wish you all the best of health and happiness in your futures.
“Any further developments regarding players extending their contracts, as well as joining/re-joining, or leaving us, will be officially communicated when confirmed.”
