Galatasaray Vice President, Niyazi Yelkencioğlu, has admitted that financial factors will likely determine whether Victor Osimhen continues with the Turkish champions or moves elsewhere.
Osimhen’s loan spell with Galatasaray has come to an end after a sensational season that saw him bag 36 goals and eight assists in 40 matches across all competitions.
His contributions were pivotal in helping the Istanbul club secure a domestic double, clinching both the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker is now expected to leave Napoli permanently, with top clubs from England, Spain, France, and Saudi Arabia all expressing interest in his services.
While Galatasaray fans hope he remains in Istanbul, Yelkencioğlu hinted that a potential departure might come down to economic considerations.
“If he goes, it will be for money,” Yelkencioğlu said during an interview with Ekol TV, as reported by Haber7.
“First of all, it is his decision, we are waiting for his decision. If he goes, it will be for financial reasons.”
He continued, “We know that his heart is here. Financial matters are also very important, big numbers are being talked about. We will see, we are waiting.”
As speculation swirls around his future, Osimhen’s next destination remains uncertain, but what is clear is that he has left a lasting impression in Turkey.
