The Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa, has suggested that the United States may seize more Nigerian assets amid the controversy surrounding a French court’s order for a Chinese firm to seize three Nigerian presidential jets.
Ekpa claimed to have spoken with US officials about seizing President Tinubu’s assets and those of corrupt Nigerian officials.
Taking to X, he warned that if Tinubu’s government continues to seek his extradition from Finland, he will consult with US officials to have more assets seized, leading to further international embarrassment.
Meanwhile, the Chinese firm involved in the French court case has released one of the three presidential jets to President Tinubu.
This development raises concerns about the potential for further asset seizures and diplomatic tensions between Nigeria and other countries.
Reacting, Ekpa in a post on his X microblogging account (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Ekpa said that there are possibilities that the United States may seize more Nigerian assets.
Ekpa said he has “personally spoken with U.S. officials regarding the subject of seizing President Tinubu’s assets, and that of corrupt Nigerian officials”.
According to him, if President Bola Tinubu and his government fail to stop asking the Finnish government to extradite him to Nigeria, he will “consult with our ”friends” in Washington, DC about having more of Mr. Tinubu’s assets seized, and he will be subject to further international embarrassment”.
