Kingibe: Ignore distractions, Akpabio tells Wike amid criticism

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has advised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to disregard criticism and focus on delivering key infrastructure projects.

Akpabio made the comment during the commissioning of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja.

The Senate President’s remarks come after Senator Ireti Kingibe criticized Wike for allegedly neglecting important areas such as security, healthcare, and education.

Akpabio praised Wike’s efforts in upgrading transportation networks and developing state-of-the-art facilities, urging continued collaboration among stakeholders to maintain the new infrastructure, according to Politics Nigeria.

The Kugbo Bus Terminal project is expected to improve transportation and reduce traffic congestion in the Karu, Nyanya, and Jikwoyi areas.

The commissioning ceremony highlights the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and improving the quality of life for residents in the FCT.

Responding to Kingibe’s criticisms, Akpabio said, “A lot of people will say things. I saw a legislator on television mentioning that she was not carried along.

“Well, she is a member of the Senate, and when a decision is taken, she is bound by that decision. Please ignore every distraction and be rest assured that no matter what you do, not everyone will praise you. Others will still try to find fault.”
