Nigeria’s first lady, Remi Tinubu, has been criticized online for breaking protocol, less than 24 hours after her husband, Bola Tinubu inaugurated as president.

The First Lady was criticized, following a viral photo online, captured Senator Oluremi sitting at a meeting, where the president, Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, hosted the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele and the Managing Director, the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited, Mele Kyari.

Premium Politics had earlier reported on Wednesday, that Tinubu had a meeting, suspected to be on the issue of the fuel subsidy and the naira redesigned policy bewildered the country.

An office that does not align with De constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
what an unlawful country!!”

@MikaelCBernard wrote: “Less than 48 hrs after the inauguration, Remi Tinubu has already overstepped her boundaries as First Lady and is now sitting in meetings with the CBN govt.

Why on earth will the First Lady be briefed on economic matters by the CBN and NNPCL?

Emefiele has been a disgrace to the Central Bank. He has made a caricature of the institution. The NNPCL has always been a joke, albeit an expensive one.

We won’t tolerate the gross disregard of national institutions again. This nonsense must stop. The First Lady is a ceremonial title, not an elected office that should be briefed on matters of the economy.”
