2027 too far to start political threat on Tinubu, says PDP chieftain

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, John Kome, has insisted that 2027 is too far to start political threats on a sitting president.

The former PDP candidate for Ikeja Constituency 1, Lagos State House of Assembly made the comment while reacting to the Northern Elders’ outburst.

He stressed that “Elders are said to be men of wisdom. Unlike younger people, elders do not divulge their innate or secret intentions.”

He said that he wants to believe that the Northern Elders were misquoted by the media, else, it will be, to him, an outburst towards Tinubu’s 2027 elections campaign, according to the Independent.

He said, “While the president is navigating the current turbulent economic situation in the country, his attention to 2027 general elections is not in the cooler either.

“The Tinubu administration may have established plans to mitigate any political upheavals as they raise their ugly heads from any socio-political axis.

“Politics, as we know, is a game of wooing people and a game of intriguing proportion, where miracles happen without fasting and praying, but with the power of intrigues and manipulations of the human minds through ethno-religious influence, etc.

“To me, 2027 is still a way too far to start a political threat against an incumbent President. I do not think that the man in Aso Rock is new to such political threats, as prior antecedents reveal what steps to take in such situations.”
