The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress says it is reviewing the results of the 2026 governorship election across the state before deciding on its next course of action.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi.
According to the APC, its leadership is examining the results from the 332 wards in the state and consulting its legal team before determining whether to challenge the outcome.
Olabisi said the party recognised elections as a process that could extend beyond the declaration of results through the various stages of the judicial system.
He said, “We are studying the results from the 332 wards across the state before taking a decision on the next line of action.”
The APC spokesman added that the party would rely on the advice of its lawyers and explore available legal avenues where necessary.
He said, “As a progressive party founded on the principles of the rule of law, fairness and justice, we shall not hesitate to explore the window allowed by the extant Electoral Act after due consultation with our team of lawyers.”
The party also appealed to its supporters to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate tensions in the state.
Olabisi urged APC members to continue with their normal activities and refrain from responding to alleged provocation by opposition supporters.
He said, “We are imploring our ever-loyal members and supporters to remain calm while they carry on with their businesses and refuse to respond to any provocative action or inaction from members of the ruling party across the state.”
The party further called on the Nigeria Police Force to protect its members and supporters who it alleged had been subjected to harassment following the election.
The APC maintained that it would continue to pursue its interests within the bounds of the law, describing the current political situation as temporary.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, the winner of Saturday’s election, while the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, finished second.
