The West African Examinations Council has released the official timetable for the 2026 Common-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series.
The examination body made the announcement on Tuesday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, outlining the subjects, dates, and time schedules for the computer-based examination.
In the post, WAEC stated, “Here’s the timetable for the CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026 – First Series. We wish all candidates success and a wonderful examination experience.”
According to the timetable, the CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates will commence on January 28, 2026, and will be conducted entirely as a computer-based test (CBT).
WAEC advised candidates to carefully study the timetable and take note of their examination dates and requirements to ensure adequate preparation.
The council also urged candidates to strictly comply with examination rules and guidelines to avoid sanctions or disqualification.
“Candidates are encouraged to adhere strictly to all examination regulations as outlined by the council,” WAEC advised.
The release of the timetable marks a key stage in preparations for the 2026 examination, enabling candidates and other stakeholders to plan effectively ahead of the assessment.
The computer-based format forms part of WAEC’s ongoing efforts to modernise its examination processes and improve efficiency, transparency, and integrity in test administration.
