Spanish side Villarreal are reportedly vying with Turkish giants Besiktas to secure the services of Anthony Dennis, the promising midfielder currently at Turkish club Göztepe.
The 21‑year‑old had been linked with a move away from Göztepe last summer, but the club’s €8 million valuation at the time deterred potential suitors.
Göztepe have now increased their asking price to around €10 million as interest grows.
German Bundesliga outfit Mainz have also emerged as interested parties in Dennis, adding to the competition for his signature.
This season, Dennis has featured in 24 league games for Göztepe, scoring three goals from his defensive midfield role — performances that have further boosted his profile.
The defensive midfielder’s current contract with the Turkish club runs until June 2027, giving Göztepe strong leverage in transfer talks.
Dennis made the switch to Göztepe in 2023 from HB Academy Abuja, marking the start of his European journey.
Dennis’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed by Nigeria’s national team setup. He was included in the Super Eagles’ 39‑man provisional squad by head coach Éric Chelle ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March — one of the younger players to be invited to the senior national team setup.
While that provisional list was later trimmed down before competitive matches, his inclusion highlights that Dennis has been on the radar of the Super Eagles for senior international duty.
