A new internal crisis has reportedly emerged inside the Real Madrid dressing room, with midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni said to have been involved in a serious altercation.
On Wednesday, reports suggested the two players clashed during a training session, with tensions escalating to the point where they nearly came to blows on the pitch.
The situation is believed to have intensified the following day.
According to Marca (SportsMole), another confrontation occurred on Thursday, during which Valverde reportedly sustained an injury serious enough to require hospital treatment.
The incident was described by the publication as ‘very serious’, prompting an emergency meeting within the club hierarchy as officials consider possible disciplinary action.
It is also claimed that Valverde refused to shake Tchouaméni’s hand earlier that morning.
The disagreement reportedly followed a ‘hostile’ training session and escalated into a physical confrontation that left the Uruguayan midfielder with a head injury requiring medical attention.
The atmosphere at Real Madrid has reportedly become increasingly tense as the team prepares for a crucial La Liga meeting with rivals FC Barcelona this weekend.
With only four games remaining, Madrid trail Barcelona by 11 points, making El Clasico a must-win fixture to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Off-field issues have also added to the pressure, with reports of strained relations involving Kylian Mbappé and sections of the squad further fuelling concerns about unity within the team.
Elsewhere, Antonio Rüdiger and Alvaro Carreras were allegedly involved in another training-ground incident that reportedly saw Rüdiger ‘slapping’ a teammate.
Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos is said to have a broken relationship with head coach Álvaro Arbeloa, adding to the growing list of internal issues.
Arbeloa is expected to address the situation ahead of Sunday’s El Clasico, as scrutiny over the squad intensifies.
Despite the tensions, both Valverde and Tchouaméni remain available for selection, although disciplinary measures from the club could still result in suspension.
Hansi Flick’s Barcelona side will be closely watching developments as Real Madrid also await updates on Mbappé’s fitness following a hamstring issue ahead of the decisive clash.
