Umahi signs Tinubu’s APC nomination form

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has publicly backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, describing his endorsement as a step toward sustaining ongoing development initiatives across the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday through his media aide, Francis Nwaze, Umahi said signing the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form was symbolic of a broader commitment to continuity in governance.

“This is not just a routine political step; it is a victory form that represents our collective resolve to consolidate the gains already made,” Umahi said.

“It marks a defining point in Nigeria’s development journey and reflects the need for stability and sustained leadership.”

The minister highlighted the administration’s focus on infrastructure, particularly in road construction and rehabilitation, noting that such projects are critical to economic growth and national integration.

“Across the country, ongoing projects demonstrate the government’s determination to deliver tangible results,” he said.

“The progress achieved so far provides a solid foundation for long-term transformation.”

Umahi also expressed confidence in the President’s capacity to complete existing projects and expand development efforts if re-elected.

“President Tinubu is well positioned to see these initiatives through and deepen development across key sectors,” he added. “Consistent leadership remains essential to achieving lasting national goals.”

The endorsement comes shortly after lawmaker James Faleke obtained the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of the President in Abuja, formally signalling the start of his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and state assembly elections are set for February 6, 2027.
