Trump set for annual medical examination May 26

United States President, Donald Trump, is scheduled to undergo his annual dental and medical examinations on May 26 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the White House announced on Monday.

According to a statement from the White House, “This will include the President’s routine annual dental and medical assessments as part of his regular preventive health care.”

Trump, who will turn 80 next month, has repeatedly insisted he remains in strong physical and mental condition, frequently raising the issue during media interactions.

In October, the Republican leader underwent his second major medical examination of 2025. Following the visit, he said an MRI scan showed his cardiovascular condition was “excellent.”

“His cardiac age, a validated measure of cardiovascular vitality via ECG, was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age. He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction,” his physician, Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, stated in a letter later released by the White House.

Trump also completed a semi-annual medical evaluation in April last year.

Since beginning his second term in office, the US president, the oldest person ever inaugurated into the role, has repeatedly been seen with bruising on his right hand, sometimes concealed with makeup.

The White House previously said the marks were linked to aspirin use as part of what it described as a “standard” cardiovascular treatment routine.

Last summer, the administration also disclosed that Trump had been examined for swelling in his legs and diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition caused by weakened vein valves that can lead to blood pooling, swelling, cramps and skin-related complications.

The condition can be treated through medication or specialised medical procedures.
