Tinubu pushes for stronger Nigeria-Turkey collaboration against insecurity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has underscored the persistent security threats facing Nigeria, including terrorism and banditry, while stressing the need for robust international partnerships to safeguard national and regional stability.

Speaking at a joint press briefing with the President of Türkiye, Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to working closely with global partners to counter forces that threaten peace and stability.

“We have discussed efforts at terrorism and how we can defeat elements of destabilisation and banditry. We will work together to achieve that,” the President said.

He also expressed appreciation to his Turkish counterpart for championing democracy, freedom, and development, noting that Türkiye’s interventions have had meaningful impacts on vulnerable communities worldwide.
