Three injured, vehicles damaged in Ibadan truck crash

No fewer than three persons were injured on Saturday after a container-laden truck reportedly suffered brake failure and crashed at the Molete Underbridge area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The accident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, left several vehicles damaged, including a tricycle and more than ten motorcycles, witnesses said.

According to eyewitness accounts, the truck lost control while descending towards the underbridge, ramming into nearby vehicles and causing panic among motorists and pedestrians.

“It was a terrifying moment,” a trader who witnessed the incident said.

“The truck was coming fast, and suddenly the driver couldn’t control it. People started running in different directions to avoid being hit.”

Another eyewitness noted that the impact caused significant destruction and obstructed traffic flow in the area.

“The truck hit a tricycle and many motorcycles. At least three people were injured. The road was blocked for a while, and vehicles had to use the other lane,” he said.

A user on social media platform X also confirmed the incident, attributing the crash to brake failure and warning road users to avoid the route.
