The Transmission Company of Nigeria has restored the 330kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2 to operation after completing repair works aimed at strengthening electricity delivery across the network.
The development was announced on Monday by the company’s General Manager for Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, who disclosed that the line was successfully re-energised at about 8:32 p.m. on February 19 following technical interventions by TCN engineers.
She explained that the repairs were carried out with strict compliance to operational and safety standards to ensure the long-term stability of the infrastructure.
“With both Line 1 and Line 2 now in service, the Shiroro–Mando transmission corridor is fully restored,” Mbah said.
“This development will improve the bulk transmission capacity to Kaduna Electric’s franchise area and enhance overall grid stability.”
According to the company, the return of the two circuits is expected to improve operational flexibility, reduce transmission constraints, and support a more dependable electricity supply to consumers within the affected regions.
Mbah noted that the milestone reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s transmission system and minimise disruptions to power delivery nationwide.
“Restoring this critical corridor is part of our commitment to building a more resilient and efficient national grid capable of meeting growing demand,” she added.
The company also appreciated customers and stakeholders for their patience during the outage and reiterated its dedication to infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving service reliability across the country.
