Galatasaray secured their first Turkish Super Lig victory of the season with a commanding 4-0 win over Erzurumspor FK on Friday.
The defending champions, who began their title defence with a 2-2 home draw against Arca Corum FK, produced a dominant display at the Kazim Karabekir Stadium to move up to four points after two matches.
Roland Sallai opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Yunus Akgun doubled Galatasaray’s advantage eight minutes later.
Victor Osimhen then added a third goal just before half-time, striking in the 45th minute to give the visitors a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.
The Nigerian striker completed his brace in the 80th minute as Galatasaray maintained control throughout the second half and comfortably secured all three points.
The latest goals took Osimhen’s tally to four in his first two league appearances this season, following his brace against Corum in the opening fixture.
The forward has now scored 63 goals in 76 official appearances for Galatasaray, moving him above former club striker Milan Baros, who finished with 61 goals.
Osimhen is now third on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign scorers list, behind Mauro Icardi, who has 77 goals, and club legend Gheorghe Hagi, who scored 72.
The Nigerian has also found the net 16 times in his last 14 Super Lig appearances, scoring in 12 of those games.
For Erzurumspor, the defeat leaves them without a point after two matches following their 3-0 loss to Amed Sportif Faaliyetler on the opening weekend.
