Fenerbahçe’s push for the Turkish Süper Lig title hit a bump on Matchday 19 as they were held to a 1–1 draw by Göztepe at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium. Domenico Tedesco’s side, sitting second in the table, missed the chance to close the gap on leaders Galatasaray.
The Yellow Canaries looked sharp early on, taking the lead in the 17th minute. Dorgeles Nene’s blistering pace allowed him to break through Göztepe’s defense and slot home for 1–0.
However, Göztepe responded quickly. Their persistence on the counter paid off just seven minutes later when Janderson found the net to level the score.
After that, Fenerbahçe struggled to convert their opportunities, failing to capitalize on home advantage.
Despite controlling large periods of the game, the visitors couldn’t break through, leaving them with just a point.
The draw leaves Fenerbahçe with 43 points, three behind Galatasaray, while Göztepe’s resilient performance secures them fourth place with 36 points, keeping them in UEFA Conference League contention.
