Super Falcons star Ucheibe leaves Benfica

Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Ucheibe, is set to leave Benfica Women at the end of the month, bringing an impressive six-year spell with the Portuguese giants to a close.

The club confirmed in a statement on its official website that the Nigerian international will depart when her contract expires on June 30 as she prepares to embark on the next chapter of her career.

Ucheibe arrived at Benfica in February 2020 as a teenager after relocating to Portugal.

Her move came just weeks before football activities across the world were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over six seasons, Ucheibe featured in 179 matches and scored 11 goals, becoming a dependable presence in midfield and a fan favourite at the club.

Benfica praised her development during her time with the team, highlighting her dedication, professionalism and influence both on and off the pitch.

The 25-year-old leaves the club with an impressive collection of silverware, having helped Benfica win six league titles, two Portuguese Cups, five League Cups and two Super Cups.
