Super Eagles defender, Emmanuel Fernandez, has been named Rangers’ Men’s Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season, capping off an impressive debut campaign at Ibrox.
The 24-year-old Nigerian centre-back, who joined the Scottish club from Peterborough, initially took time to settle but quickly developed into a key figure in Rangers’ defence.
His steady performances and rapid improvement earned him widespread recognition from fans and analysts alike.
Renowned for his strength in the air and threat from set pieces, Fernandez was also included in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year, underlining his impact throughout the season.
His strong club form has reportedly attracted interest from several European sides, including Premier League clubs Arsenal and West Ham, as well as Dutch giants Feyenoord.
On the international stage, his performances were rewarded with a first call-up to the Nigerian national team.
He made his Super Eagles debut on March 27, 2026, in a 2-1 win over Iran, before going on to score his first international goal shortly after against Jordan.
