StarTimes to broadcast all World Cup matches

StarTimes has announced full live coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, promising to broadcast all 104 matches of the tournament across Nigeria from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

The Punch reported that while speaking on the rollout, StarTimes Nigeria Marketing Director, Oke Umurhohwo, said the initiative is designed to ensure football fans nationwide can follow the competition regardless of their location or financial capacity.

“The FIFA World Cup is more than just football; it is a shared experience that unites families, friends, viewing centres, and communities,” Umurhohwo said.

“At StarTimes, we are proud to broadcast all 104 matches live while also rewarding our subscribers with exciting prizes, including a N10m grand prize.”

As part of its promotional drive tagged “Watch the World Cup. Win Big.”, the company said subscribers will compete for rewards totalling N50m throughout the tournament period.

The highlight of the campaign is a N10m grand prize draw scheduled for the final match day on July 19, 2026, to be conducted live.

Beyond the cash reward, subscribers also stand a chance of winning seven StarTimes H30 Solar Home Systems and fourteen StarTimes S130b Solar TV bundles, each package coming with an integrated decoder and a 32-inch television set.

Eligibility for the promo is automatic once customers purchase and activate a new StarTimes DTH or DTT decoder, renew or reactivate qualifying bouquets, or buy and activate a StarTimes S130b Solar bundle. The promotion runs from June 1 to July 19, 2026.

To widen access to the tournament, the company has also rolled out discounted World Cup decoder offers available between May 18 and July 31, 2026, with several decoder packages and accessories reduced in price.

According to Umurhohwo, StarTimes’ Basic Bouquet now starts at just N4,000, a move aimed at making World Cup viewing more affordable for Nigerian football fans.

In addition, matches will also be available for streaming via the StarTimes ON mobile app, accessible on smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs.

With full live match coverage, reduced subscription costs, discounted decoder options, and a range of prizes, StarTimes says it is set to deliver a wide-reaching and engaging FIFA World Cup experience for audiences across Nigeria.
