Tijjani Noslin produced a dramatic late winner as Lazio pulled off a remarkable 1-0 away victory over Parma in Saturday’s Serie A clash, despite finishing the match with just nine players.
Lazio were first reduced to 10 men shortly before halftime when captain Mattia Zaccagni was shown a straight red card for a reckless lunge on Nahuel Estevez.
Their task became even tougher in the 77th minute as Toma Basic was also dismissed for an off-the-ball shove on the same opponent.
Against the odds, the visitors struck in the 82nd minute. Noslin capitalised on a defensive lapse, dispossessing a hesitant defender before calmly rounding goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi and slotting into an empty net.
The win marked the first time since February 2017 that a Serie A side triumphed after being reduced to nine men, when AC Milan edged Bologna 1-0.
Lazio’s victory takes them to 22 points and keeps them in the hunt for European qualification, although they remain nine points behind joint leaders Milan and Napoli.
Parma, meanwhile, were jeered by their supporters at full-time and slipped to 17th, though they still sit four points clear of the relegation zone.
