Nico Paz produced a brilliant display, scoring once and setting up another, as Como defeated Juventus 2–0 to hand the Bianconeri their first Serie A loss of the season and move level with them on 12 points.
Juventus had a chance to go joint top of the table but were plagued by absences, Gleison Bremer, Edon Zhegrova, Juan Cabal, Fabio Miretti, and Arek Milik all missed out, prompting a shift to a four-man defence.
Como, on the other hand, were without suspended duo Jesus Rodriguez and coach Cesc Fabregas, while Jayden Addai, Sergi Roberto, Assane Diao, and Alberto Dossena were sidelined through injuries. Former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata led the line for the hosts in a 3-5-2 setup.
The hosts got off to a dream start. A short corner routine caught Juve off guard, and Nico Paz’s precise cross picked out Marc-Oliver Kempf, who was left unmarked at the back post to volley home, with Pierre Kalulu losing track of his man.
Kenan Yildiz curled just wide on the counter before weaving between two defenders to set up Teun Koopmeiners, whose shot was blocked by Kempf.
Michele Di Gregorio then had to react sharply, tipping over Morata’s powerful effort from close range.
The Juve keeper was also alert to push away Alberto Carlos’ angled drive, while Jonathan David found the back of the net only for the goal to be ruled out due to Koopmeiners being offside in the buildup.
Just before halftime, Daniele Rugani made a vital block to deny Mergim Vojvoda, and when Di Gregorio parried another effort from the same player, Maxence Caqueret failed to convert the rebound.
After the break, Koopmeiners went close again, curling a free kick narrowly wide before sending a free header straight at Jean Butez.
But as Juventus introduced Dusan Vlahovic to chase an equaliser, they were punished at the other end.
Nico Paz ran onto a long ball over the top, cut inside Andrea Cambiaso, and curled a superb left-footed finish into the far bottom corner from the edge of the area to double Como’s lead.
In stoppage time, Cambiaso, Tasos Douvikas, and substitute Vlahovic all saw efforts saved, but Como held firm to record a famous 2–0 victory, their first-ever Serie A win over Juventus.
