AC Milan returned to winning ways in the Serie A on Sunday with a convincing 3-0 victory over Lecce at San Siro.
The hosts took control early, with Christian Pulisic opening the scoring in the 14th minute after receiving a superb pass from Strahinja Pavlovic.
The United States international controlled the ball in the air before calmly finishing past goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
Lecce struggled to contain Milan as the hosts continued to dominate possession and create chances, although Falcone made several important saves to keep the visitors in the contest.
Milan eventually doubled their advantage in the 62nd minute when Adrien Rabiot combined with Goncalo Ramos before powering a left-footed effort beyond Falcone.
Substitute Samuel Chukwueze came close to adding another for Milan earlier in the second half, while a Pavlovic header also ended up in the net but was ruled out for offside.
The hosts finally sealed the victory in the 74th minute through substitute Moreira, who collected a loose ball, cut inside and fired a low effort past Falcone at the near post.
Lecce had opportunities to reduce the deficit late in the game, but Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan produced important saves to preserve his clean sheet.
The victory moves Milan to within two points of the Serie A leaders after five matches, while the result provides Ruben Amorim’s side with a much-needed response following their recent inconsistent run.
