Serie A: Inter edge 10-man Juventus 3-2

Piotr Zielinski’s dramatic last-minute strike secured a 3-2 win for Inter Milan over 10-man Juventus, sending the Nerazzurri eight points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

The Derby d’Italia at San Siro looked set for a draw after Juventus, reduced to ten men following Pierre Kalulu’s early dismissal, had fought back to level the score.

Inter took an early lead in the 17th minute when Andrea Cambiaso inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, only to redeem himself nine minutes later.

Weston McKennie’s clever run and cross allowed Cambiaso to poke the ball past keeper Yann Sommer, restoring parity while Luis Henrique was caught napping.

The match took another twist just before halftime when Kalulu, already on a caution for a challenge on Nicolò Barella, fouled Alessandro Bastoni and saw red for a second booking, leaving Juventus a man down.

Despite the numerical advantage, Inter faced a determined Juve side in the second half, with Sommer denying Cambiaso, Fabio Miretti, and McKennie as the visitors pushed forward.

Cristian Chivu’s men regained the lead in the 76th minute through a headed effort from Francesco Pio Esposito, only for Juventus skipper Manuel Locatelli to equalise in the 83rd minute.

But it was Zielinski who had the final word, slotting home a last-gasp winner to hand Inter their sixth consecutive league victory.
