Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development with the commissioning of two major projects in Mushin Local Government Area: the Abibat Mogaji Market and the Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon Ultra-Modern Office Complex.
The unveiling ceremony, held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, was conducted on behalf of the Governor by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
The Abibat Mogaji Market, formerly known as Mushin Market, and the newly built office complex are expected to serve as hubs for economic and administrative activity in the area. The office complex houses several federal government agencies and includes a newly established radio station to boost local communication and public engagement.
“These are transformative projects that will significantly improve the lives of the people of Mushin,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said in a speech delivered by Hamzat. “We are committed to bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people through meaningful development.”
He commended the outgoing chairman of Mushin Local Government, Emmanuel Bamigboye, for his contributions to grassroots development.
“The leadership and commitment shown by Chairman Bamigboye are commendable. He has laid a solid foundation, and the standard he has set is one the incoming administration must build on,” Sanwo-Olu noted.
He expressed confidence in the newly elected chairman, Haruna Aruwe, describing him as someone who understands the workings of the system and is prepared to exceed expectations.
“Haruna Aruwe has been part of the system and has learned well. We expect him to double the achievements of his predecessor. In four years, Mushin should witness twice the progress,” the governor added.
Speaking on the importance of the new office complex, Sanwo-Olu emphasized its role in improving service delivery and accessibility for residents.
“Anyone who needs services from these federal agencies can now easily walk in and get things done without stress,” he said.
He also highlighted the value of the newly established radio station, describing it as a vital tool for community engagement and information dissemination.
