Senator Ned Nwoko has maintained that the medical reports circulating online about his wife, actress Regina Daniels, are authentic, dismissing speculation that the documents were fabricated.
In a statement released on Saturday via his Instagram page and signed by the head of his communication team, the senator addressed the controversy that followed after one of the hospitals mentioned in the viral documents denied releasing the report.
Earlier, Serenity Royale Hospital, Abuja, had distanced itself from a purported medical report suggesting that Daniels was undergoing treatment for substance abuse.
The document, allegedly signed by the hospital’s Managing Director, Adekunle Adesina, claimed that the actress had been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and admitted into a home-based detoxification programme on September 24, 2025.
However, Nwoko insisted that the hospital did not dispute the content of the report—only the fact that it was leaked.
“A medical report concerning Regina Nwoko has been circulating online. The reports are genuine,” the senator’s statement read.
“The rehabilitation centre only clarified that it did not publish or circulate the documents, which is expected because medical institutions must protect client confidentiality. They did not deny authoring the reports; their concern is the leak itself.”
The statement urged the public to review the full documents, which it said confirmed high levels of multiple substances.
“Both the toxicology report and the Serenity Hospital report confirm the presence of the same substances, all at levels that pose serious health risks: marijuana, cocaine, morphine, opiates at extremely elevated levels, and alcohol at a critically dangerous level.”
According to the senator, a report from Nizamiya Hospital, dated October 3, revealed that Daniels was rushed in unconscious due to a drug overdose.
Nwoko further accused some of the actress’s siblings of interfering with her treatment.
“The reports describe challenges the rehabilitation centre faced, including persistent interference from her siblings. They openly stated that they do not see anything wrong in giving her alcohol and weed during rehabilitation,” the statement alleged.
He added that these actions contributed to Daniels’ inability to complete her treatment programme.
The senator also linked the actress’s recent online activities to what he described as her unstable condition.
“Many have questioned why the Senator is insisting on therapy. His determination comes from the clear reality that several of Regina’s recent decisions are not coming from a stable and healthy frame of mind,” the statement said.
“Her online behaviour reflects her current struggles, and she tends to listen more to public voices than to medical professionals or her husband.”
Nwoko said private efforts to help her had failed, stressing that the severity of the medical findings made it impossible to continue handling the matter quietly.
“The question becomes: must we wait until Regina reaches a point of irreversible harm before we support her and help her commit to rehabilitation?”
He added that his concerns are tied to her well-being and the welfare of their two young children.
“Distinguished Senator is genuinely and deeply concerned. He wants Regina to recover, be safe, be clear-minded, and present for her two young sons.”
The statement concluded by insisting that the reports were real and not leaked by the hospitals.
Daniels, however, has publicly countered her estranged husband’s claims.
While admitting to past drug use, she said it was not the cause of their marital crisis. She described Nwoko’s allegations as exaggerated and manipulative, accusing him of enabling her drug use and isolating her from loved ones.
She maintained that the senator’s recent public disclosures were an attempt to damage her reputation.
