Rashford’s arrival forced my Barcelona exit – Pau Victor

Braga’s new signing, Pau Victor, has revealed that his departure from Barcelona was influenced by the arrival of Marcus Rashford.

The Spanish striker sealed a €12 million move to Sporting Braga this summer shortly after Rashford joined the Catalan giants on loan from Manchester United.

Victor, who endured limited minutes last season, admitted in an interview with Jijantes that the Englishman’s arrival made his chances of regular football even slimmer.

“I felt very loved during my time at Barça, and when I left, they gave me a lot of affection. With Rashford’s arrival, it was very difficult for me to play this year,” Victor explained.

The 22-year-old also spoke warmly about his former coach, Hansi Flick, praising the German for his support during difficult moments.

“The manager (Hansi Flick) was always very clear with me when I wasn’t playing. He worried about me, asking me how I was feeling. I don’t have a single complaint about him.

“When I left, I sent him a message thanking him for everything last year. He was like a father to us,” Victor added.
