Police recover stolen ₦18m vehicle, arrest suspect in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 26-year-old man over the alleged theft of a 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport worth about ₦18 million, with the stolen vehicle successfully recovered.

The Punch reported that the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, noting that the suspect, Mohammed Dan-Azumi, was tracked down and arrested in Kano State.

According to the statement, the case began after the owner of the vehicle reported that he had handed it over to the suspect for washing before it disappeared.

“The breakthrough followed a report lodged by the owner of the vehicle, who stated that he had entrusted his vehicle to Mohammed Dan-Azumi, 26, of Girei Local Government Area, for washing. The suspect allegedly absconded with the vehicle to an unknown destination.
