An 81-year-old American YouTuber known online as “GrammaCrackers,” Sue Jacquot, was left startled after armed police officers responded to her home during a live Minecraft streaming session in Queen Creek, Arizona, following a false emergency report.
Jacquot, who has built a small but engaged online community through her gaming streams, was broadcasting as part of a long-running fundraising effort to help support her grandson’s cancer treatment when the incident occurred.
What was meant to be a routine livestream quickly turned tense after authorities were alerted to a fabricated claim alleging a deadly shooting at the property.
Her family explained that they had been streaming continuously for nearly two weeks as part of the charity drive when emergency services were triggered by the hoax call.
The false report prompted a full tactical police response, with officers arriving in force to secure the residence.
Speaking about the moment officers were dispatched, her grandson Jack Self recalled the sudden shock of the situation, saying, “Right then I was like, whoa,”.
He further described the emotional impact on the family, adding, “It was kind of like a punch to the stomach,”.
Video footage circulating online shows multiple armed officers surrounding the home and instructing occupants to exit carefully with their hands raised while they assessed the situation.
The operation unfolded as a standard swatting response, a dangerous prank that has increasingly targeted online streamers.
Despite the intensity of the response, Sue Jacquot later said the officers handled the situation professionally and treated her with respect once it became clear there was no threat. She was safely escorted outside during the check.
Reflecting on the surreal nature of the ordeal, she remarked, “I had just thought, what would my grandkids have done?”
Family members believe the hoax may have originated from an overseas prank caller, although no official source has been confirmed.
