Nigerian businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has gifted the founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, a mansion as part of his birthday celebration.
Cubana announced the gift in a video shared on X on Saturday, where he described Eze as a close friend and a man who had consistently supported him and others through prayers and intercession.
Speaking during the presentation, Cubana said he decided to honour the cleric for his dedication to the Christian faith and service to humanity.
He said, “Today, I’ve chosen to celebrate one of my most amazing brothers, the man of God, my friend, Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze.”
Cubana added that Eze had remained supportive of him and others, saying, “You have always been there for us before God and before man. You have always interceded for us in God’s presence, and you have interceded for us in some very powerful ways.”
The businessman explained that he had previously hoped to complete and present the property to Eze by the cleric’s birthday.
According to him, although the building was still under construction, he decided to formally dedicate it to the pastor as a birthday gift.
He said, “I made a silent prayer to God that by our next birthday I should be able to finish and gift you one. But looking at it, we are still working, and hopefully it will be done soon.”
Cubana further stated, “I make it bold to say today I am presenting one to you as a birthday gift for the work of God and for the service of mankind.”
He also wished the pastor a happy birthday and prayed for continued blessings upon his life.
“May God continue to bless you. Happy birthday, my brother,” he said.
The gesture has generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users applauding Cubana’s generosity while others questioned the decision to give an expensive gift to another wealthy individual rather than supporting people in need.
Eze is marking his birthday amid the attention generated by the gift, while the mansion is expected to be completed subsequently.
