The National Identity Management Commission has officially restored its National Identification Number verification services across the country following the successful completion of a technical maintenance exercise.
In a statement released on Friday, the commission confirmed that operations had resumed after the earlier disruption.
“NIMC wishes to inform the general public that the recent technical maintenance has been completed and all services have been restored,” the statement read.
The commission advised Nigerians who wish to enroll for NIN to visit its official website to find the nearest enrollment centers.
Additionally, NIMC encouraged citizens to utilize its self-service portal for tasks such as updating personal details, including name modifications.
To streamline the NIN verification process, the agency also recommended downloading the NIMC NameAuth app (oath.app) from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store for swift and secure authentication.
NIMC acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the service disruption and extended gratitude to the public for their patience, noting that the downtime had affected banks, telecom companies, and various government institutions dependent on the verification platform.
